The first field survey of the island of Hvar in the framework of the CRSF AdriaCos project was conducted during March 2021. The survey covered a number of areas in Stari Grad, the town of Hvar and its surroundings, and Gračišće hillfort on Starigrad plain, aimed to determine the condition of sites and select locations that will be part of the forthcoming research (cadaver dogs, geophysical prospection and archaeological excavations). It was organized through cooperation between the Institute of Archeology, the Museum of Stari Grad, the Hvar’s company Kantharos and the Agency for Stari Grad Plain Management – a Public Institution. Participants in the field were: Dr. Marina Ugarković (PI), Dr. Sara Popović (member of the research group), Andrea Devlahović and Eduard Visković, with the support of Dr. Aldo Čavić and Mr. sc. Vinko Tarbušković.

Interesting areas in Stari Grad were photographed from the air by drone, orthophotos were made, all data (positions of graves and ramparts) collected by a comprehensive review of the literature, as well as those collected in the field, with the aim of discovering precise the locations of the city ramparts and necropolis of ancient Pharos, were drawn in the existing GIS database.
